FAA Airspace Authorization for Gainesville Drone Flights

Much of Gainesville falls within Class D controlled airspace due to Gainesville Regional Airport. This means commercial drone flights across large portions of the city — including downtown, the university area, and most of midtown — require prior FAA authorization before a drone can legally take off.
